Ask the service provider for some testimonials or better yet ask to speak to some satisfied customers before you commit.

If its your first time using and hosting a webconference make sure they provide all the training and tools you'll need for a successful webinar.

If they aren't offering a free trial of the service this should be a red flag especially if you are a webinar newbie. 

Webinars can be the most powerful business tool available to you today. Practice beforehand and make sure you prepare all your materials in advance of the call. Work from a script if you need to and have a moderator to assist you in the presentation to control the flow of the webinar.
