Web Conferencing and Global Business
By: Richard Embro-Pantalony

International travel for business has been around for centuries when you think about it. In today's world businesses feel they need to be face to face with their clients in order to do business with them. Times are quickly changing and business and technology are changing at a wild pace. This enables the international business community to cut travel costs to a minimum. Web conferencing is changing the way large companies do business internationally.

Think of the advantages of being able to meet with as many clients as you wish at the same time while in different locations around the world. Everyone is viewing the same interactive presentation in real time and able to communicate via telephone with the host at anytime. Instead of meeting in a boardroom at your client's office, everyone is at their own computer in the comfort of their own environment watching the same presentation that they would be during a personal business meeting.

Web conferencing enables the host to communicate in different ways with the attendees of the presentation. Your service provider will have options available to you to interact with your viewers such as messenger and chat. Voice over Internet protocol is also available but many experienced web conference presenters avoid this method of online communication because of the quality of the conversation. Broadband technology can sometimes play havoc with voice communication online. It is best to have everyone attending to hook up via teleconference, though it is a bit more expensive, the quality is much more reliable.

Video conferencing is another way to communicate but again there are some draw backs. Although the information online will be consistent, video quality is important and everyone requires a high speed connection. Equipment will vary between parties to the presentation therefore quality will be harder to control.
Depending on the software you use for your webinar, participants will be able to do file sharing and trade applications online with one another.

Web conferencing will save your company much time and money in travel. Those businesses that require frequent travel of thousands of miles annually will appreciate the cost savings. Your employees will be grateful for the time they can spend sleeping at home and spending more time with family.
